I’m a multimedia journalist living the dream and a graduate of the Newspaper Journalism MA at City University, on scholarship with the NUJ’s George Viner Memorial Fund. This blog is all about arts and culture in and around the capital city, of interest to me, with a strong emphasis on film, visual arts and theatre.
I was born and brought up in North Kensington, West London and currently reside in North West London. I studied the Ancient World as my undergraduate degree at UCL (highly recommended, both course and university) and then deferred my postgrad offer at City and took a year out gaining experience at newspapers including the London Newspaper Group (Kensington & Chelsea News, Hammersmith & Fulham Chronicle), the Financial Times (Arts desk) and the Sunday Times Culture and Style magazines.
Since then I’ve also worked at the Evening Standard (Arts desk and Online) and the Economist (Books and Arts).
The customised header on my blog is of an original photograph I took in Ladbroke Grove of a spray painted portrait of playwright Samuel Beckett by muralist Alex Martinez.
